2013 Kia K9 Flagship Sedan Debuts

Kia has published the first official photos of its new rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan, codenamed the Kia KH (or Kia K9). The 2013 Kia K9 flagship sedan is going on sale in South Korea this summer. Soon-Nam Lee, Kia’s Director of the Overseas Marketing Group, said, “Our all-new flagship sedan integrates all of our key capabilities such as design, performance, high-tech features and infotainment into one striking model.”

The K9 shares its platform with the Hyundai Equus, therefore its likely that it’s going to be offered with the same 5.0L V8. It has not been declared when it will be introduced in other markets outside of South Korea.

The Genesis looks like it’s copying Mercedes S class, now this looks like it’s copying the new 5-series. Are the Koreans just gonna continue to sit around and be viewed as the country that can’t produce a car that has a distinct image?

This is disappointing. Kia has done such a good job making its own brand image, then they’re going to make their “flagship” look like a BMW. This is a step backwards for sure.
